 Description
Front Desk Assistance
 Assists senior center front desk staff with answering phones, greeting members, and giving tours to new/prospective members (some computer experience is helpful).
Daily Lunch Assistance
 Helps senior center staff with our daily lunch program. This role can be fulfilled daily. Schedule can be set up with senior center nutrition coordinator.
Meals on Wheels Driver
 A partnership volunteer role with the senior center and United Way. MOW drivers pick up prepared meals at the senior center and deliver to clients each day. Daily schedule will be made with United Way.
Outreach Various outreach opportunities in the senior center include, but are not limited to:
The Songbirds; our senior choral group.
Assisting senior center staff with making senior center related presentations throughout the community.
Playing the piano for our members during our senior center lunchtime.
Sending member communications (cards, notes, postcards) on occasion. {Staff will provide all necessary information and supplies.}
Hospitality Assists the Hoover New Horizons board hospitality committee chair in greeting guests at Horizons events and other occasional senior center events.
Kitchen Assists the Hoover New Horizons board kitchen committee chair in setting up and serving meals for Horizons events and other occasional senior center events.
Decor Assists the Hoover New Horizons board decor committee chair in decorating tables/room for Horizons events and other occasional senior center events.
Programs A Hoover New Horizons board committee chair role that involves planning and getting speakers and/or entertainment for Horizons events.
Finance Assists the Hoover New Horizons board treasurer with preparing monthly and yearly reports.
Set-up Assists the Hoover New Horizons board set-up committee chair in preparing for and setting up for Horizons events and other occasional senior center events.
Reservations A Hoover New Horizons board committee chair role that involves logging reservations taken for Horizons events in Excel Spreadsheet.
