Zoning Classifications

All land located in the City of Hoover falls into one of the zoning classifications listed in Appendix I, Article VI or Article XII of the Municipal Code. Each classification has restrictions regarding development and use. The property owner may request to have property rezoned. All rezoning requests are reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission and voted on by City Council through a public hearing process.

Requests to deviate from the current zoning restrictions require the approval of a variance by the Board of Zoning Adjustment.
